Alcon Entertainment StartsTV Division, Taps Former Sony TV Exec Sharon Hall To Run It

Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment is launching a TV division, Alcon Television, to develop, finance and produce original programming for broadcast and cable TV. Sony Pictures TV’s outgoing head of drama Sharon Hall is in negotiations to run the unit as president, overseeing development and production and reporting to Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. She will be based in Alcon’s Century City offices. Hall joined Sony TV in 2005 as an executive consultant to oversee the fall development slate and pilot production. She was upped to SVP Drama in early 2006 and EVP in 2009. She is exiting the studio in light of the pending arrival of Suzanne Patmore-Gibbs who will take over Sony TVs drama department and as well as oversee the studios international co-productions eyed for the U.S. market.
